Outpatient Therapist Job Description

Counseling ABQ needs qualified, New Mexico Licensed Therapists! 

Outpatient Therapists provide outpatient therapy and related clinical services to adults, adolescents, couples, and/or families.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide services and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the professional Code of Ethics.

• Provide therapy, counseling, intervention, and/or education to clients professionally.

• Provide clinically appropriate treatment based on mental health assessment and treatment plans.

• Complete timely and accurate documentation. Meet audited, tested requirements.

• Non-independently licensed counselors must participate in group and individual supervision. Independently licensed counselors are encouraged to attend group supervision.


• Licensed in New Mexico (LMHC, LPCC, LCSW, LMSW, LMFT, LAMFT).

• Minimum of one year of related experience (may include internship).

• Support the organization’s mission and sensitivity to cultural and workplace harmony.

• Individual professional malpractice liability insurance policy.

• Management of work processes along with strong computer skills for documentation purposes.

• Ability to write detailed progress notes and treatment plans.

• Ability to maintain confidential information within HIPAA guidelines and organizational policies.

• Ability to effectively communicate, present information, and respond to clients, administrative staff, and supervisors.


  • Complete Autonomy over your schedule.
  • All sessions are Teletherapy.
  • Work from home with a company-provided HIPAA-compliant platform.
  • Free clinical supervision to non-independently licensed counselors.
  • Paid group clinical supervision to independently and non-independently licensed counselors.
  • Competitive contractor pay.
  • You will be eligible for bonus pay if you see more clients than the 25 hours/week.
  • On-boarding support with the EHR system from our experienced administrative team.
  • Our intake coordinator gets to know you and makes referrals based on your clinical expertise. You only accept referrals that are within your comfort level.
