We are a mental health practice that provides Telehealth therapy to NM residents.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented clinical mental health counseling intern to join our team. Interns will work under the supervision of licensed mental health professionals to provide counseling services to individuals, couples, and families dealing with mental health issues.

Develop all the skills you are currently learning and add additional clinical and professional training. You will also add value to our community by providing individual, couples, and/or family counseling. This position is entirely remote.

Summary of the Intern Position:

Counseling ABQ needs one or two qualified New Mexico students studying counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy in their Master’s degree program!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in weekly group and individual supervision.
  • Meet with the intake coordinator/intern as needed.
  • Attend and participate in all assigned meetings, supervisions, and on-the-job learning sessions. 
  • Maintain one’s own schedule and track one’s own hours.
  • Ask for assistance when needed.
  • Provide services and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the profession’s Code of Ethics.
  • Provide therapy, counseling, intervention, and/or education to clients professionally when assigned.
  • Provide clinically appropriate treatment based on mental health assessment and treatment plans.
  • Complete timely documentation.

Requirements:

  • Attendance in an accredited New Mexico University Mater’s Degree Program with a counseling or social work focus.
  • Have access to a private space to conduct teletherapy sessions.
  • Support the organization’s mission along with sensitivity to cultural and workplace harmony.
  • Individual professional malpractice liability insurance policy.
  • Management of work processes along with strong computer skills for documentation purposes.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information within HIPAA guidelines and organizational policies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
